Current project: LITUS MARIS
Modern Analogue Stories of Nature, Art, and Community
Between the lines of analogue film, emotion breathes — and for me, that breath is strongest where the sea, the land, people, and creativity converge and continuously evolve.
Litus Maris symbolizes not just the literal coastline, but the boundary between worlds — the place of transformation. It represents the space where life moves from one form to another, where transitions occur, whether through the tides of the ocean or the rugged edges of the mountains. Here, human creativity flows like the waves, a constant rhythm of growth, renewal, and reflection. Some find in these places a timeless sanctuary, others wrestle with their isolation, their fragility, their slow demands. Yet all are united by a longing: to create, to belong, to find meaning and community.
This project is not just a collection of images, but an homage: a glimpse into spaces where nature shapes not only landscapes but lives. Across various places, I have sought out places where creativity, regeneration, and belonging intertwine. From the beauty of Menorca’s shores, an open art gallery within the port of Mahon, the artist retreat on the Lazareto Island; from walking with goats through Albania’s rugged mountains to the building of resilient tourism along Montenegro’s coasts and inland valleys; from quarry homes like Ca’n Terra carved into stone to the regenerative farming practices at Can Font in Catalunya; and from the vibrant cacao farms and sacred body art rituals of Venezuela’s Chuao people, where the rainforest meets the Caribbean Sea, I have sought out spaces where nature, creativity, and community intertwine in deep and meaningful ways. For me, each project exists at the litus maris, the shore where land and sea meet, constantly reshaped by the forces of nature, creativity, and community.
In many ways, this project is also about how to create your own future via reflection, action, introspection, and sharing — navigating the spaces between past, present, and future. It’s a way of stepping into new experiences, drawing closer to the unknown, and meeting the people and ideas that shape you. It’s about the connections — whether they are with new or old friends, all through the shared bond of creativity and nature. This is not just a documentation of spaces or initiatives — but of the invisible forces that draw people to them: dreams, doubts, resilience, and hope. Through the slowness and alchemy of analogue photography, I align with a more natural pace, and I search for the pulse within each place — an energy that calls to those who know how to listen. More than anything, this project is a love letter to that force, to the litus maris itself — the threshold, the place where change happens and unites strong natural forces. It’s a tribute to those who have answered the call, shaping their lives and their art across these elements, and to how I, too, am answering that call in my own way.
At its core, this project is a celebration of the spaces where land and sea converge, where the raw forces of nature meet human creativity. By exploring these borders—whether geographic, emotional, or cultural—this project aims to give voice to those who inhabit these spaces and create within them. The vision behind this project is to capture and preserve the delicate balance between nature and human creativity. These images are not just about showcasing beautiful landscapes or remarkable artworks—they are about revealing the quiet, often overlooked forces that give us vitality and meaning to flourish in life.
